About this deal

my son got three different ones for xmas, (he's just six years old) and he had them put together in two days and was playing away! I think the two more expensive sets (London Escape and Whitecap Bay) offer a LOT more in terms of both playability and and useful parts. The set contains lots of the same parts to build the wheel, and I guess the Mill parts perhaps aren't too exciting to all you Castle enthusiasts who have already built lots of grey towers, but this set does have some nice bonus stuff like the bottle and the heart of Davy Jones, as well as the key to the chest.

But the special things of this MOC are awesome as well, like Hadras his shell, Norrington and the wheel of course. Stay on your feet and clench control of that key before Hadras flees back to the Flying Dutchman with it! The difference for this version is that he comes with a big key, used to open the titular Dead Man's Chest which holds the heart of Davy Jones.a new component for legos, is that they have "sling" shaped pieces that are placed like a messenger bag over the character, which allows them to hold their swords in their sides, when not in use.

Moving on, there are quite few interesting pieces within the first two bags, including the new bucket piece, the new bottle piece, a 1x1 dark blue tile with compass print, sword sheaths in brown, and a dark red 1x1 round brick with heart print.

This set traveled to Vegas for a Christmas gift and I received a wonderful note thanking me for the gift. In any case it's a cool set and really can't wait to bring this and the rest of POTC in to our collection.

Even if you haven't seen Dead Man's Chest, the second installment in the PotC series, you've probably heard of the epic scene on which this set is based off of. The back of the box displays the set in a less crowded environment, with a light parchment colored background. The Mill allows you to do a recreation of the fantastic fight scene when everyone is trying to get their hands on the Dead Man's Chest, and the key that opens it. Overall I find this one of the weakest in the PoTC line, but the figs and the parts selection still make it a fairly good set. This effectively creates a pulley system between the bell and the other end of the string, just like in the movie. From this angle, you can see an impressive doorway, a tall tower, and the spot where bag four's build will go. I would've been alright with just the sword-fighting trio, but the fish guy was a very nice addition. I have noticed, though, that the only sets that come with the card are the sets related to POTC: On Stranger Tides.
